Claire's Biscuits

This is our family biscuit recipe! My mama, my Memaw, and my mother in law all use this similar recipe and it's a family favorite! My daddy loves these especially and eats his with gravy. Casey loves his with Apple Butter. My mama has a home video from when I was about 2 1/2 making these same biscuits. I love making these with my kiddos!

Ingredients:

3 cups sifted self rising flour

3/4 cup crisco

1 cup buttermilk

butter

Cut crisco into flour. Add milk. Roll out and cut cut into circles (I use a small glass to cut ours, a cookie cutter will work too). Line on a baking sheet with sides touching. Top each biscuit with melted butter.

Bake at 400 degrees for 18 minutes or until golden on top.

Tips-

Don't overwork the dough

Place them touching side by side to help them rise!

Eat them up!
